India is a young nation, eager to enhance it's vantage-point
position in the world economy of the 21st century. The need of the hour is to empower the
vibrant population with new and customised skills quickly. The mission of VantageIndia is:
To enable knowledge sharing of India-oriented solutions, thus dramatically reducing the
turnaround time of designing a solution and replicating it across the nation.
Examples of the need for India-specific solutions:
Cotton School-uniforms in India: The warm weather of the country calls for the usage of
cotton cloth for school-uniforms to ensure comfort of children. This is much different
from a school-uniform of a school of say Japan, England or US, where it is cold for most
part of the year, and so necessitates wearing of ties and coats.
Centralised development of Educational CDs: An educationist could design lessons in area of
mathematics or science. These could put on CDs and distributed to reach all schools in all corners of the
country; A similar approach can be taken for gathering knowledge in area of farming and it can benefit
innumerable farmers.
These analogies can be extended to many problems/issues in India, where the climate,
population, economic equations, culture etc demand that solutions be adapted to suit the Indian
ethos. This will result in multiplier effect and act as enabler to bring about a revolution.
Strategy
VantageIndia seeks to achieve its mission through sharing Best practices in many
facets of EDUCATION, encouraging LEARNING BY DOING, and advocating predominant use of OPEN-SOURCE
SOLUTIONS (OSS) in India. The menu items on the left side would help visitors to obtain knowledge
in areas of their interest.
